Real Success Stories
Thank you for those daily emails with so much useful information. To be frank, I have always been skeptical about these daily emails spamming my inbox and I almost never used to read them at all! But your posts were truly quite beneficial to me, in terms of not just how I workout but also in terms of what I eat everyday.
Let me briefly introduce a little bit about myself. I was never overweight and I have been a runner for more than 3 years. So, working out everyday was never an issue with me. Also, being a vegetarian by birth, diet and nutrition was also not a big issue for me, as I naturally love fruits and vegetables. To add to that, I naturally stayed away from sodas because I never acquired its taste anyways and when thirsty, water has been my best friend. That in fact explains why I have always been dismissive about health blogs and articles which tend to stress on things that I do naturally everyday! Said that, despite leading a reasonably healthy and active lifestyle (in fact, I do heavy workouts most of the time), I could not get to my dream weight ever. My weight always varied from 125 lbs to 130 lbs and I never got below that , what so ever. And my dream has always been to shed that extra 10 lbs and become 115 lbs. It was an impossible goal for me. That made me think that I should be doing something wrong. That’s when, your articles came as big help to me!
I must confess that I have known so many useful ‘eye-opening ‘ information in your emails, that I still have all of them saved in my inbox. I initially looked for those arm-shaping exercises to get lean and defined arms and I was disappointed initially when I read stuff about nutrition, sugar and all other dietary facts and very little about work-out plans. But then, when I read on, I found some of the facts really informative, and something that I have never known before.
Here are a few things that literally changed (or rather enhanced) my eating habits:
1. Facts about Sugar.
Obviously I have known the side-effects of taking a lot of sugar but not until I read your post on insulin and sugar, that I realized that it could affect anyone, even a non-diabetic person like me! I also remember you talking about certain ‘decieving’ sources of nutrition like store bought orange juice, processed food, that have more chemicals and sugar than nutrition that the body actually needs.
Changes I have made in my eating habits: I have literally stopped buying ANY processed food that contains ingredients that I can’t understand, including granola bars, sugary cereals and also store-bought juice. Instead, I buy locally grown seasonal fruits and make my own style of juice, if I feel like having a beverage. And believe me, they taste way better than the store-bought ones, without even adding any sugar or sweetening agents. At other times, I like to make fruit platters and instead of adding whipped cream, I typically spray some cinnamon and honey if at all I get that sweet cravings 🙂 and they taste awesome. And the best part is I end up saving up dollars at the end of the month by cutting down on processed food.
2. Facts about whole grains :
I remember one of the emails talking about whole grain food and wheat in specific. That was really an eye-opener for me. Everyone talks about whole grains, synonymous to healthy eating and when I read about your take on them, it literally shocked me but made total sense to me.
Changes I made in my eating habits: I have started cutting down on whole wheat and rice. Instead, I tend to get my carbohydrates from legumes.
3. Facts about complex and simple sugars:
Although I knew and agreed to some of things you have mentioned in your articles, only now, I am making conscious decision of taking complex carbs as much as possible and avoiding anything that tends to get into the blood sooner. I also see a side advantage in this: I don’t fall asleep in the afternoons 🙂
Talking about the benefits that I reaped, I now weight 117 lbs!! and have just 2 more pounds to lose. And those arm-shaping workouts have finally started to show some promising results. I could see some definitions building up on my arms for the first time. The best part is it’s just been a little over 2 months of adapting these changes in my eating style and work outs and the results are already showing. My goal was to get to 115 lbs by the end of July but I think I am way ahead of my goal, thanks to your posts 🙂
I would really appreciate if you could send me some more of your amazing posts. My husband and mother-in-law are just shocked (in a good way, of course) to see some major changes in me over these few weeks.

Yes initially I did get results. I lost 4 pounds first month, 6 pounds second month, 7 pounds third month, 4 pounds fourth month, 4 pounds 5th months and 4 pounds 6th month for a total of approx. 30 pounds… I guess in the beginning I was really strict and that’s when it worked the best. I didn’t mind the food combos at all, I was hungry at times, but was determined… But I told lots of people about it because it really is a good way to eat and the food is good for you. So it’s worth it to try it, and learn to eat these combinations.
